| Ann Arbor Public School District |
| The Ann Arbor Public School District consists of 21 elementary
schools, five middle schools, and four high schools (two traditional,
two alternative). Due to an overwhelming overcrowding problem
within the two main high schools (Pioneer and Huron), a third
major high school is planned. There are currently 16,724 students
enrolled in AAPS schools, including the elementary, middle,
high, and alternative schools. The District's superintendent
is Dr. George Fornero. Students in the district partake in the
Michigan Educational Assessment Program, as well other standardized
tests.
